Two Atlanta flights delayed, why?
Flight delays are a norm and something each of us have experienced but what was so different about the two flights coming to Atlanta? These planes full of passengers were given bomb threats. Yes, a terrifying reality of today’s time is the treat of explosions. A similar threat came to the two flights, confirmed via twitter. As the authorities were informed immediate action was taken. Two F-16s were deployed from McIntire Air Force Base in South Carolina to escort the two planes, one coming from Milwaukee and the other from Portland.
By standers at the airport reported to say that they felt that something was wrong as both flights were landed in a secluded part of the airport while multiple police cars, ambulances and, eventually, a bomb squad car approached the two planes. Some of the locals added that they felt shocked that something like this was occurring in their home town.
All the passengers were escorted off and re-checked. The interior and exterior of the plane was also scanned again including the luggage.
Although the threats were considered credible but no actual bomb was found on the planes despite the search of the K-9 team and bomb squad. The Delta airline stated that their main concern and number one priority was the security of their passengers. Except a general statement by the airlines no details of the threats were released by the FBI.
